Is it possible to make an anonymous tip off to police?

I just saw a maniac driving really fast and went up on the pavement trying to overtake another driver. It was outrageous and I want to report it but without all the hle of really getting involved. The driver may have been drunk.. so would it be possible to give a tip off to the police of the registration, make of car and where to find the person. (We followed him and saw exactly where he parked). If the person is drunk and if they go find him couldnt they do something even though I remain anonymous. As in the fact if they go find him drunk, and find that the car has recently been used?
