Do bears really poo in the woods? I am saying no, but my friend Dennis says that they do?

Dennis is really, really smart. He builds stuff that blows stuff up and stuff. However, I do not consider him to be an expert in "bear pooing." He says that bears poo in the woods, but I was always taught that they are litter box trained. Please help us settle this bet.
